Here, on July 15, 1410, in one of the greatest battles of medieval Europe, the Polish-Lithuanian army won a historic victory over the Teutonic Order. The battle is now commemorated by the monument towering over the fields, at the foot of which there is a museum devoted to this battle. On every anniversary, in this historical place, there are huge costume and battle shows with the participation of thousands of knights (knights' brotherhoods all over Europe) and tens of thousands of tourists.
