Ostróda is an important junction of water routes - one can get there from here to the Baltic Sea by two water routes (the Drwęca River or the Elbląg Canal). The main attractions of the town are located near the boulevard by Lake Drwęckie. A beautiful promenade with a pier which leads along the waterfront. There is also an amphitheater by the lake, where various events take place and Collis Park with attractions for children. A Teutonic castle from the 14th century has been preserved in Ostróda, the former residence of the commander. In the castle in Ostróda in 1807, during one of his war campaigns, Napoleon Bonaparte himself stayed there for two months. From Ostróda, you can go on a 2.5-hour cruise on the Ostróda-Elbląg Ships to Stare Jabłonki or Miłomłyn or on an hour-long cruise on Lake Drwęckie. On Lake Drwęckie, there is also a water ski lift 800m long - an attraction for fans of extreme sports.
